Volunteer Driver
We are looking for Volunteer Drivers for a variety of tasks to help with the running of the RSPCA Cat Hub. You must have your own vehicle and ensure that it is fully insured, which needs to include use for work purposes.
We need Volunteer Drivers to:
Transport cats from our cattery and foster homes to local vets surgeries
Collect cats’ prescriptions from vets surgeries
Pick-up donated goods, including cat food and litter, from collection points and transport them to the RSPCA’s office.
Our Volunteer Drivers must be confident with cats, be able to lift animals in carriers/cages/baskets, have a reasonable knowledge of the local area, and be friendly and helpful with an interest in animal welfare.
Some lifting is required. We can provide on-line training for moving and handling and health and safety, and access to other relevant courses on-line.
The times and days we require Volunteer Drivers will vary, but we prefer a minimum of three hours per week. You must have your own vehicle, a full clean driving license and comprehensive insurance to ensure you and your vehicle are insured to carry out for the tasks we require. We will ask to see your documentation before you can take up this role. Expenses are available.
Before you join us as a volunteer, you will be asked to complete a volunteer application form, attend an informal interview and provide referees for us to contact. When you start as a volunteer you will be provided with an induction programme and any training you may need to carry out the role.
If you are interested in this role, please email sophie.moran-barker@rspca.org.uk for an application form.
