Meet Rupert

This absolutely gorgeous 10-year-old ginger and white gentleman is Rupert, and he’s searching for the loving forever home he has always deserved.

Rupert hasn’t had an easy life. Before coming into foster care, he had been through so much and arrived absolutely terrified of people and his new surroundings. Watching his transformation has been incredibly special. Thanks to endless patience, quiet reassurance and allowing him to build trust at his own pace, Rupert has blossomed into the sweetest, most affectionate boy.

Once he feels safe, Rupert is an absolute lovebug. He adores fusses and chin scratches, loves rolling around for attention and has started showing his playful, cheeky personality. He loves playing with toys, goes absolutely wild for catnip and enjoys spending his days watching the world go by from the window. Like most cats, he’s also a huge fan of treats, especially Lick-e-Lix!

Rupert is looking for a very special adopter who understands that frightened cats need time, patience and kindness. He will need a quiet, calm home with someone who is cat savvy and willing to let him settle at his own pace without any expectations. It took his foster lots of quiet time sitting with him every day to earn his trust, and that same understanding will help Rupert flourish in his forever home.

Rupert would really benefit from a secure catio or cat-proof garden, as he enjoys spending time outdoors. Due to his nervous nature, it wouldn’t be safe for him to have unrestricted outdoor access.

Potential adopters should also be aware that, sadly, Rupert was involved in a road traffic accident several years ago which unfortunately was never treated. Since coming into our care he has been thoroughly checked over and is currently doing really well, but there is a possibility he may develop arthritis earlier in life and require pain relief as he gets older.

After everything Rupert has endured, all he asks for is a safe home, a warm bed, plenty of love and someone who will never give up on him. In return, you’ll gain the most rewarding friendship with a boy who will love you with his whole heart once you’ve earned his trust.
